Sequoia Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program
The Sequoia Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a
$1,000 RENEWABLE* 4-YEAR Scholarship to a high school senior who has a
family member that belongs to the Sequoia Federal Credit Union. To be
eligible applicants must:
- intend to enroll in an
accredited technical, vocational, or business school, or a two or four
year college, or university.
- show evidence of partial
self-support to help cover educational expenses (for example, savings
from summer jobs, part-time work, etc.).
- show academic promise
and demonstrate progressive improvement.
- be a United States
Citizen or permanent resident.
Sequoia FCU Board members
will be responsible for selecting the scholarship recipient and
notifying the other applicants.
Sequoia FCU will present a scholarship
certificate and will open a $1,000 checking account in the recipient's
name to be presented on the annual awards night for the high school
attended whenever possible.
*RENEWABLE: Annually the
student must:
Upon receiving grades at the end of the second
semester, have a certified copy of college or school transcript sent to
the Sequoia Federal Credit Union. (Student must maintain a minimum 2.5
grade point average.)
Personally write a letter to the Board of
Directors requesting continued funding.
Provide proof of
enrollment at the beginning of each semester, quarter or term.
Understand
that the scholarship is limited to 4 years of enrollment and is not
automatically renewable.
