Deadline - April 25, 2008.
The Redwood City Sequoia Employees Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a $1,000 RENEWABLE* 4-YEAR Scholarship to a high school senior who has a family member that belongs to the RCSSE Federal Credit Union. To be eligible applicants must:
- intend to enroll in an accredited technical, vocational, or business school, or a two or four year college, or university.
- show evidence of partial self-support to help cover educational expenses (for example, savings from summer jobs, part-time work, etc.).
- show academic promise and demonstrate progressive improvement.
- be a United States Citizen or permanent resident.
An application is enclosed with these instructions. Completed applications with all supporting documentation must be returned to the Credit Union no later than Friday, April 25, 2008.
- RCSSE Board members will be responsible for selecting the scholarship recipient and notifying the other applicants.
- RCSSE will present a scholarship certificate and will open a $1,000 checking account in the recipient's name to be presented on the annual awards night for the high school attended whenever possible.
*RENEWABLE: Annually the student must:
- Upon receiving grades at the end of the second semester, have a certified copy of college or school transcript sent to the RCSSE Federal Credit Union. (Student must maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average.)
- Personally write a letter to the Board of Directors requesting continued funding.
- Provide proof of enrollment at the beginning of each semester, quarter or term.
- Understand that the scholarship is limited to 4 years of enrollment and is not automatically renewable.
